What are Prefabricated Arches?

Prefabricated arches add curves to your home without breaking your budget

To put it simply, prefabricated arches are arches that are premade for you to your exact specifications, so all you have to do is install. Okay, you probably guessed that already, so we’ll go into a little more detail. Here are some of the common questions we get about prefabricated arches .

Why would I choose prefabricated arches over traditional on-site built ones?

The easy answer is that it’s easy. But that doesn’t quite cover everything. Prefab arches are usually more even and accurate than on-site built arches. That’s because it’s really difficult to create a completely uniform arch from scratch. But our prefabricated arches are made within ¼ inch of your measurements, so they’re spot on. In addition to being accurate, prefab arches are quick and simple to install, which equates to a huge savings on labor costs. Bottom line: You can have a prefab arch installed in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost of on-site built arches and it’ll be closer to a perfect arch. >

How does the process work?

It’s actually really simple. All you have to do is decide where you want your arch and what kind of arch you want. From there, you’ll take three simple measurements and give them to us. Then, we get to working building your arch. You’ll have it shipped to your doorstep, or jobsite, in five days or less. Pretty awesome, huh?

What are prefabricated arches made of?

Our prefabricated arches are made of high-quality solid MDF (medium-density fiberboard). They’re sturdy and built to pass the test of time. Every so often, we’ll get a question about MDF vs. wood. MDF is actually heavier than wood in most cases, and it’s extremely durable. But there really isn’t much of a need to craft archways out of solid mahogany or another high-quality wood. After the drywall is up, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

Do I need a contractor to install a prefabricated archway?

This is a really great question. We have many customers who install their own archways and others who hire a contractor for the job. It all depends on your skill level. If you know how to use a nail gun and tape measure, you can install these prefabricated archways. Not everyone is familiar with these simple tools of the trade, though. If you’re the type who is apprehensive about hanging a picture, it’s best to call a contractor. But if you’re used to DIY construction projects, you can definitely handle this one on your own.

Many years ago, archways were reserved for the most expensive homes and buildings because, well, they were expensive and time consuming to install. Fortunately for homeowners, today archways are much more attainable. Our prefabricated arches have allowed homeowners and builders across the country to add a little curvature to their homes.
