Dual radius arches, aka basket handle arches, have two radii (hence the name). On each side, they have a more pronounced tighter radius that blends perfectly with a gentler larger radius in the center. They're similar to elliptical arches (multiple radii), except they flatten out quicker for larger width openings. They also blend well with half-circle openings that are under 72".

1” to 5 ½”. Any depth over 5½” will be made as a split (a 2¾” arch for both the front and back of the opening). Lastly, a dual radius arch depth is limited to 18”. Anything greater than 18" is considered a barrel vault. |
For the most part, dual radius arches need to keep a very specific width to rise ratio to keep their look intact. The greater the width, the greater the rise and vice versa. Every dual radius arch kit comes with tailored installation instructions to your specifications. It really is as simple as measuring and marking the center of your header, marking down from the header your total height, and then aligning and fastening each dual radius arch half to the stud and header..
